 “Joined at the Head” This little project was born from a dinner meeting I had with Ammar Daraiseh, who said, "I have this monologue I used to do in theater auditions in Chicago before moving out to LA. It's from this great play called 'Joined At the Head'. Do you want to shoot it?". I decided that an interesting approach to a short monologue could be a similar approach that I would take when shooting a music video, except that instead of a song, I have a monologue. The speech has its own music and its own rhythm, and creating a story that is partially concrete but also to a large degree symbolic, visual, surreal perhaps and certainly whimsical at times, was a very appealing challenge. Shooting on a tiny budget actually created an intimacy on the set that I think allowed us to get the proper emotions in the very quick and intense 12 hour shoot. Director and editor: David Jakubovic
